EXAM BOARD – OCR

Course Content:

  • English Legal System and Criminal Law
  • Law Making and the Law of Tort
  • The Nature of Law and Contract

Success and Achievements:

The Law department has a long standing record of success in A Level exams. (7 years of Red Alps scores)

I am very proud of our many past pupils who have gone on to study Law at prestigious universities including Oxford and Cambridge and other Russell group Universities. Many are now pursuing careers in Law and in 2022 a former student succeeded in getting a Training Contract at Clifford Chance.

I have a reputation for outstanding teaching and high academic expectations of all my students and I actively encourage them to push themselves forward in achieving their goals.

The uptake of the subject at A Level is high and I attribute this to the passion and enthusiasm that is displayed in everyday teaching as well as the excellent results.

Wider Learning and Enrichment Opportunities:

In Year 12 we visit the Supreme Court in London for a tour and talk.

We have many visiting speakers coming to our school: Sir Bernard Hogan Howe, MP Jacob Rees Mogg, Jonathon Rees QC have all given interesting talks to our students over the years about their work & the legal profession. We also work closely with the local magistrates and firms of solicitors as well as with some Universities.
