What a week for Wiseman!
Another massively successful week in the bag for Wiseman students in Sport.
In a week dominated by National Cup Football fixtures and large amounts of travel Wiseman have again managed again to maintain the high standards set over the past few years.
Year 8b Boys Football vs Bishop Thomas Grant
Wiseman 4 - BTG 1
Goals: Samuel O Brien(2), Thomas O Leary, Fiontann Doherty
Man of the Match: Luke Kelly
Playing their first match together against an experienced South London side the boys showed excellent teamwork and dominated the game from start to finish. The boys move on to face Monks Walk School in Wellwyn City in the next round.
Year 9 Boys Football vs Greenshaw
Wiseman 5 - Greenshaw 2
Goals: Ethan Roche (3), David Krzewinski(2)
Man of the Match: Kobi Akins
After a slow start and trailing 2-1 at half time the boys worked together to put in a dominant performance in the 2nd half. If not for some questionable finishing this could have finished in double figures for Wiseman. The boys move on to play Roekby School in Newham in the next round.
Year 10 Boys Football vs Burnham Grammar
Wiseman 4 - Burnham Grammar 8
Goals: Simao Perrera (2), Alex Odd, Patrick Murphy
Man of the Match: Simao Perrera
In a disappointing performance against strong opposition our Year 10 boys bowed out of the National Cup away to Burnham Grammar. Too many costly mistakes and lack of teamwork cost the boys who no doubt will look to improve in both their league and Middlesex Cup campaigns.
Under 16 Girls Football vs Swakeleys
Wiseman 3 - Swakeleys 0
Goals: Cat Albuquerque, Jessica Fitzgerald, Zuzanna Wojtaszewska
Girl of the Match: Wiktoria Czarny Bojanowicz
Another strong performance for our U16 girls who remain unbeaten in nearly 2 years. A strong defensive base allowed our attackers to get on top and create numerous chances only to come up against a very strong opposition goalkeeper. In the end experience paid off with 3 great goals from Cat, Jessica and Zuzanna.
First XI Boys Football vs Kingston Grammar
Wiseman 3 - Kingston Grammar 0
Goals: Jude Moore, Hubert Ignas, Daniel Fernandes Cunha
Man of the Match: James Buckley
For the first time in a number of years Wiseman’s First XI Football team have been re entered in a number of competitions and showed us exactly why we wanted to bring them together. In a comfortable win described by Mr Kalinowksi as the best performance he’s seen from the boys; big praise considering many have numerous Ealing and Middlesex medals since Year 7. A sublime lob from Jude started things off after some silky passing. Followed by a dominant end to the first half with two more goals. The boys eased to a comfortable win. They move on to face Gordon’s School from Woking.
Ealing Borough Cross Country:
Despite smaller than usual numbers due to the amount of regular athletes playing Football and having other commitments we took a good squad to the Borough Cross Country yesterday at Horsenden. Results should be back in the next few days but look very promising with Zoe Musial (Year 9) finishing in 5th in the Year 9/10 girls race.
