Information about about the dates and topics in the Year 10 January Science examinations.

Year 10

Biology and Physics – A half – Wednesday 10th January – Period 3

Biology and Physics – B half – Wednesday 10th January – Period 2

Chemistry - A half – Friday 12th January – Period 1

Chemistry - B half – Friday 12th January – Period 2

There may be a small number of set changes following this examination, particularly to decide if Separate Science students are on the correct course – all test results from Y10 and Y9 summer examination results will be analysed.

It is essential that your child attempts these tests with the aim of achieving the best possible results they can.

Students will be tested on topics taught this academic year and in Year 9

Biology

B1 Cell-level system, B2 Scaling Up, B3.1 The Nervous System

Chemistry

C1 Particles; C2 Elements, compounds and mixtures; C4.2 Identifying products of chemical reactions

Physics

P1 Matter; P2 Forces; P3.1 Current only ; P3.2 Series and parallel circuits, potential difference, Resistance only; P4.1 Waves, P4.2 The EM spectrum (P5.1 and 5.2 for separate science)

Revision resources can be found on Frog these include past paper questions, board works quizzes.  Students also have access to the online textbook and further practice questions at https://www.kerboodle.com.  If students are unable to logon they need to see me in G16.
