Year 10 Exams

These are the dates and topics for the Year 10 Summer Additional Science examinations.

Year 10

Physics Friday 22nd June – afternoon examination - 1 hour 10 minutes for Combined, 1 hour 45 minutes for Separate Science.

Chemistry Monday 25th June – afternoon examination - 1 hour 10 minutes for Combined, 1 hour 45 minutes for Separate Science.

Biology Thursday 28th June – afternoon examination - 1 hour 10 minutes for Combined, 1 hour 45 minutes for Separate Science.

It is essential that your child attempts these examinations with the aim of achieving the best possible results they can. Results from these exams and all examinations in Year 10 will inform Year 11 set changes.


Students will be tested on the following topics:

Biology

B1Cell level systems, B2 Scaling up, B3 Organism level systems, B4 Community level systems, B5.1 Inheritance

Chemistry

C1 Particles, C2 Elements, Compounds and mixtures, C3 Chemical reactions, C4 Predicting and identifying reactions and products, C5 Monitoring and controlling chemical reactions

Physics

Combined Physics - P1 Matter, P2 Forces, P3 Electricity and Magnetism, P4 Waves (not P4.3 Radioactivity), P5 Energy

Separate Physics - P1 Matter, P2 Forces (not P2.3), P3 Electricity, P4 Magnetism, P5 Waves, P7 Energy (not P6 Radioactivity)


Revision resources can be found on Frog. These include past paper questions, board works quizzes.  Students also have access to the online textbook and further practice questions at https://www.kerboodle.com.  If students are unable to logon they need to see me in G16.
