The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School

Explanation of Early Closure on Friday at 12.30pm

This will allow staff at the school to catch up with marking and reporting following the Ofsted  inspection

Thank you so much for the support given us this week which is reflected in the highly positive feedback given to the Ofsted Inspection Team. This latest Ofsted inspection follows the one-day routine inspection last March. This week’s version was a full two-day inspection, with a particularly high powered team led by one of the government’s “Her Majesty’s Inspectorate Team” and supported by four current London Secondary Headteachers. Students (and staff) were brilliant and the inspection findings will, I am sure, reflect this.

It has been a particularly frantic week at the school and teachers and students have fully committed to the inspection. As a consequence, important end of year examination marking and tutor report writing has been set aside this week, which will require a massive ‘catch up’ effort over the next week. I will, therefore, be closing the school at 12.30pm tomorrow to allow some time for that ‘catch up’. This is likely to go through this weekend for most teachers.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause at short notice. If families are unable to make arrangements, I am happy to supervise students at the school in the afternoon.

Thank you again for your support and I will forward the inspection findings to you as soon as they are published.
