Year 13 Chemistry Assessment
Year 13 Chemistry Students have an important Pre-Public Mock Exam during the week commencing 26th November.
The assessment will be 1:30 minutes long and will cover the following topics:
- Acid-base equilibria
- Redox I
- Chirality, Carbonyl compounds, carboxylic acids and their derivatives
- All AS chemistry topics
Please note that all students have access to the following resources, which I would strongly encourage them to utilise:
- A level Chemistry resources on Frog can be found in Frog Resources by selecting the Science folder followed by Year 13, then Chemistry. Past paper question packs can be found here for students to use as an important component of their revision to help with exam techniques and testing their knowledge. All Frog resources are accumulated in folders according to the topic. Frog has a number of resources such as power points that explain each topic and include mini quizzes for students to check their understanding.
- Text books and CGP revision book have been given to each student which they should be using to complete homework and aid their revision notes, and regularly practice exam questions.
Additionally, I have set half term homework, for all year 13 students, which needs to be completed and handed in to their subject teacher on the first lesson back at school. Students are expected to complete the 3 questions packs, for the topics listed above. Please note that as independent learners, students are expected to attempt all questions.
This test will be an important indication to the Chemistry Department of the students’ progress and will impact on UCAS prediction for some students.
