Parent Governor Election
The Governing Board will be holding elections for two Parent Governors during April 2019.
If you are a parent or carer of a child registered at The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, then you are eligible to stand for election and we hope that you may be interested in putting yourself forward. We would particularly welcome parents with a background in finance, human resources, or with a legal background.
If you are interested, it may be helpful for you to know what is involved. Parent Governors are elected for a four-year term. The commitment to the role would involve you in attending meetings regularly and undertaking training. The Governing Board meets once a term, as do the sub-committees for: Catholic Life, Curriculum, Resources and Admissions. Governors are asked to be on a minimum of two sub- committees. All the meetings take place on a weekday evening, governor training is freely available through the Local Authority and the Diocese of Westminster and, on occasions, whole governor training takes place on site.
A letter, a Nomination Form and further information on the role of a Parent Governor will be available to all families in the ‘Vacancies’ section of the school’s website and on Parents’ Frog.
You may contact the Clerk to the Governors at: email@example.com
The closing time and date for the receipt of Nomination Forms is 4.00pm on Friday 29th March 2019.
All new Parent Governors will be required to complete a Declaration Form and be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
