The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School

Outstanding achievement at A Level in 2019

WISEMAN Sixth Form students celebrated some outstanding outcomes this summer.

Many students secured places at prestigious universities, including Cambridge, Imperial, LSE and Warwick.

Both Natalie Kaurloto and Dionne Bimpong will study at Cambridge University after their hard work was rewarded with superb results. Natalie (A* grades in History and English Literature and A in Religious Studies) will study History and Russian at Downing College, Cambridge and Dionne (A* in Fine Art and A in Geography and Mathematics) will study Architecture at Girton College, Cambridge.

A further five students – Conor Quirke, Patrick Green, Matthew Blom, Beatriz Monteiro de Carvalho and Tommy Moses – achieved the remarkable feat of three or more A* grades in their subjects. Conor received four A* grades – in Mathematics, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics, a quite exceptional set of results.

In all, there were 28 students that achieved at least either two A* or three A*/A grades, demonstrating the highest levels of academic excellence. They will all go from strength to strength in undergraduate study.

Other courses our students will enrol on include Medicine, Aeronautical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, International Relations and Politics, Law, Mathematics, History, Computer Science, Economics and Psychology, to name but a few.

Overall, 29% of all A Level exams sat by Wiseman students were graded at A* or A, 55% at A* to B and 82% at A* to C.

The Sixth Form team and teachers are hugely proud of the achievements of our A Level and BTEC Level 3 students in 2019 and wish all our alumni every success in the future.
