Year 7 Parent Information Evening
Parents of Year 7 students are invited to attend the Year 7 Parent Information Evening on Tuesday 1st October at 6pm.
We hope that your child has had a happy and successful transition from primary school. Mr. Bell, Head of Year 7 has been working tirelessly to ensure that all students are happy, organised and making progress in lessons. The transition from Year 6 to Year 7 can be a daunting experience for some students. Working with both the student and their family is a key factor in ensuring that a child makes good progress in school.
The information evening will provide you with a clear insight into how our school community operates. You will receive information on your child’s curriculum and how they can best be supported both at school and at home.
You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s form tutor and have an informal conversation about how they are settling into school. The form tutors and the pastoral team play a pivotal role in ensuring that each child feels safe and happy at school. It is important that each child feels valued and knows who they can talk to if they are ever worried.
We will be encouraging Parents/Carers to have learning conversations with their children. Having a conversation with your son or daughter about what they enjoy, what they are good at, what motivates them to learn, the environment they want to be in and their preferred learning style can be the key to their success.
The presentation will start promptly at 6pm. We hope that you will be able attend this important meeting. This evening is aimed at Parents/Carers and we would ask children to remain at home where possible.
