Following the Government’s announcement on school closures yesterday, we are developing firm plans in response.
Over the last few weeks we have planned work for all year groups, with priority given to those classes preparing for examinations. That priority has shifted with the announcement that there will be no public examinations this summer.
Staff and students have been fully prepared for home learning that will begin on Monday 23rd March. The first phase of this will be the two weeks leading to the Easter vacation. I will send full details of how this will operate tomorrow.
A further expectation of the school will be providing education for ‘vulnerable’ students, children with a EHCP and the children of key workers. We will put on a provision for these students, but I do not have the capacity for additional teaching. Those students will log on to the work for their class in J200 or the SEN area depending upon the level of support needed. We know the students in the first two categories; if you are a key worker (in the categories that will be listed by the government this evening) and need your children to attend school please provide us with names and relevant occupations through email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by text to 07483 356437.
Please ensure that replies are made by 2:00pm tomorrow, so that we are able to plan for Monday.
Many thanks for your continued support and cooperation in challenging times.
