On Saturday December 4th, Laura Tyler, Hermine Kudia, Ayisha Paw and Aileen Suresh (Year 12) took part in four debates at the London School of Economics against students from all across the UK. It was a fantastic event and all four students were exemplary both in their preparation and speeches. They also met with other debating students and gained very useful feedback from the judges. The topics covered a range of contemporary social and political issues. All students gained a great deal from the experience and in their pairs, won and came 2nd and 3rd place in many of the debates. Our next competition is on Tuesday 7th December, as we are host school for the English Speaking Union's Great Mace Debate. Our team in this competition will be: Jemma Gewargis and Charis Charles. (Year 12.) It begins at 4.45pm at the top of the Pallottine building. All welcome.
