As part of our continued development of our student catering facilities we need to re-register the students on our cashless catering system, to allow us to install new software which will increase the speed our tills operate at lunchtime.
As with our current system, the new system will not store the finger print image. We use the fingerprint to create an Alpha Numeric signature which is unique to every individual. The fingerprint is then destroyed - it is not stored. The unique barcode which has been created cannot then be reinterpreted, but allows students to access their account when they purchase food and beverages from any of our catering outlets.
Cashless catering allows us to serve more students at lunchtime and our aim is to create a faster service which will reduce time spent queuing at the till points.
The registration will take place between the 22nd November and the 18th December 2012. Every effort will be made to ensure that student learning will be disrupted as little as possible.
