Acts of Charity @ CWS
During Lent, we are challenging ourselves to live out Caritas, or Charity, especially those whom it is hard to like or whom we do not know. When you recognise an act of charity, please record it on the comments section of this page
During Lent, we at Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School are challenging ourselves to live out Caritas, or Charity.Living out charity means treating others with love, whether we like the person or not (Matthew 5:43-48). We believe that God is love and God invites us to love Him.
How do we love God?
We can increase our prayer and spend time with God. We are also told that we love God when we love our neighbour (Whatever you did for one of the least, you did for me - Matthew 25:31-46). Expressing this love, can be as simple as a smile, helping someone when their hands are full, or even asking how someone is doing. Charity is giving of your time, energy and love and asking for nothing in return.
It is important to stop and recognise charity in our own lives and be aware of how God works through others. God shows love through the love of others.
Your challenge then is two-fold:
- To commit ourselves to acts of charity at school, at home, and in our communities
- Recognise acts of charity in our daily life
When you experience an act of charity, please record these acts of charity by clicking on the 'comments' section of this page. If you do not wish to write your name, you can write 'Yr. 11 student' or 'staff'. We will take as many entries as possible and put them on the Faith Life page of our website.
Blessings on your lenten journey,
