Year 7 Science Test
Year 7 Students will be sitting a KS2 Science baseline test on 11th and 12th September...
This letter is to inform you that your son/daughter will be sitting a KS2 Science baseline test on 11th and 12th September. This will help inform set changes for the start of Year7, along with KS2 teacher assessment. However there is no need to revise for this test as it covers topics already learned in KS2 Science.
During Year 7 your son/daughter will have access to the KS3 Exploring Science textbook via FROG to help them study and revise. There are also good interactive revision resources available on the internet such as BBC bitesize. I would like to encourage you in supporting your son/daughter at home in their study and revision of Science topics.
Pupils will sit tests in November, March and June to help assess their progress in Science. They will also complete a levelled Controlled Assessment Preparation (CAP) task in one of the topics each term about processing and analysing data; this forms part of our programme to build skills for scientific investigations.
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish your son/daughter the best of luck for the forthcoming year.
Please feel free to contact me on 0208 575 8222 (ext 430) if you have any further queries.
