Entry Level GCSE Letter

I am writing to inform you that your son / daughter has begun to be taught the additional material required for the Core OCR Gateway Science GCSE. The scientific skills students developed on the Entry Level Course will help students’ to progress on the GCSE Course.

 
The Core OCR Gateway Science GCSE course is one GCSE and is assessed by two external papers that would be sat in the summer of 2014. B1 / C1 / P1 accounts for 35%, B2 / C2 / P2 is the second paper and accounts for 40% of the GCSE. The controlled assessment is completed in lessons and accounts for 25%.
 
NOT ALL students will be entered for the GCSE exam in the summer of 2014. The decision to enter students for the exam will be based on students meeting all of the criteria listed below:
  • Students achieving at least a grade C on the controlled assessment.
  • Students achieving or surpassing their target grade on all internal tests that you will be made aware of via Frog, as and when they occur.
  • Students completing homework on time and to a high standard
