Cyberbulling - keeping your child safe

As a school we are concerned about the increase in the number of high profile cases of ‘cyberbulling’ that have been directly linked to Facebook and other social networking sites, and chat rooms.

As a school we are concerned about the increase in the number of high profile cases of ‘cyberbulling’ that have been directly linked to Facebook and other social networking sites, and chat rooms.

Students do not have access to these sites in school, however, it appears that a number of students are sending and receiving messages outside of school, which have the potential to result in conflicts within and outside of school.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could continue to closely monitor and supervise your child's use of these social networking sites when using their home computers/laptops and also their mobile phones many of which now have internet access.

Your support in this matter is vital in promoting your son/daughter’s education and helping the school maintain a safe environment conducive to learning.

Many thanks
