We Did It!
Cardinal Wiseman students break a Guinness World Record as part of the World's Largest Samba Band at the Royal Albert Hall. Watch out for them on Blue Peter!
On Monday 3rd March 37 Cardinal Wiseman Students and 4 teachers travelled to the Royal Albert Hall to take part in a very special performance and to make a world record attempt for ‘the world’s largest samba band’.
The musicians had been busy rehearsing for 8 weeks with samba drumming specialist, Ollie, who taught us the music for the concert. At the concert, in aid of Street Child World Cup, we were allowed three attempts at breaking the world record and were judged by official Guinness World Record adjudicators. We are pleased to say that the performance was a success and we are now World Record holders! The day was really good fun as we also got to watch performances by beat-boxer ‘Hobbit’ and the London School of Samba, and we were filmed by Blue Peter!
Watch out for us on Blue Peter (CBBC) at the end of the month. For now, you can view a video of the highlights of the day here:
