Year 9 Theatre Review

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it” - Harper Lee

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view - until you climb into his skin and walk around in it” - Harper Lee

Twenty four Year 9 students accompanied by eight members of staff took a trip to the Richmond Theatre to see 'To Kill a Mocking bird' by Harper Lee on 5th May. The play, set in "the most boring town in America" in Alabama, explores poverty and racism during the depression. Two year nine students give us their thoughts on the evening...

"This phenomenal theatre performance, taken from a must read Harper Lee novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” was simply one to remember thus had been read by several year 9 students throughout the term. The Richmond theatre’s interpretation of the novel captured the pure essence of Lee’s book, almost as if it had come to life on stage! The character roles were portrayed perfectly not only showing more than one perspective but showing a genuine character appearance leaving the audience undoubtedly stunned."
