This year the Geography department is taking a group of 22 year 8 and 9 students to visit Iceland on 27th May to 31st May.

It is a fantastic opportunity for students to experience, see, climb and touch the exciting Geography that Iceland has to offer.

We will be visiting a number of tectonic landforms such as; the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spa where the warm waters heated by the earth’s core are rich in minerals, Thingvellir - the location were the European and North American plate meet so long deep cracks are visible in the earth and some volcanoes such as the Stora Dimon.
We will also visit a glaciers and waterfalls that have been created over millions over years – Gulfoss Waterfall – Iceland’s most famous waterfall where white cascades drop 32 metres and Solheimajokull – Iceland’s massive ‘black glacier’.
