What’s special about the 21st June?

What’s special about the 21st June? (*)

On this day in 2011, a selection of pupils across all sets in Years 7 and 8 were rewarded with entry to an Astronomy Roadshow in Cardinal Wiseman. Pupils sat inside an inflatable dome in the New Gym to see projections including recent space research, planetary orbits, constellations, and simulations of how stars are born in nebulae. Pupils also had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker Mr Bassett about all things astronomical. Thank you to the staff who supervised, also to the PE department for loaning us the gym.
