On Friday the 5th September a fundraiser Race Night was held at Brentham cricket club to raise money for Jemimah.
Jemimah joined our school’s annual HCPT pilgrimage to Lourdes in April 2014. The annual trip gives the opportunity for disabled children to have fun away from home, whilst the rest of their family also gets a break from being full time carers. Spending time with Jemimah highlighted how much her life would be enhanced by an electronic communication aid.
Sixth Former Aine Gilmore and the rest of HCPT Group 217 were determined to raise money to help Jemimah and organised and set up the whole Race Night fundraiser. The unity and spirit that I, and everyone else, who attended the Race Night witnessed was remarkable and truly moving. None of this amazing work could have happened without Aine and the rest of Team Jemimah. A sum of £4,200 was raised on the night which will enable Jemimah to buy a computing device to help her communicate. Aine and our HCPT Group should be proud of the amazing work that they have carried out and I am proud to be able to say that I am a part of this team.
A final thank you goes to everyone who attended the fundraiser and donated generously to a cause that is very close to all of our hearts. None of this would have been able to happen without you all.
