Literacy Splash Week
Next week is the first of the new academic year's Literacy Splash Weeks
Next week is the first of the new academic year's Literacy Splash Weeks. At this time last year, we focused on spelling, so this year we will be paying particular attention to punctuation use in lessons and in homework. In tutor time there will be a variety of activities to encourage the accurate use of the apostrophe: this little punctuation mark seems to be problematic for many.
At the same time there will be a schoolwide competition to create a short story in no more than six words. There will be prizes for the best entries at KS3, KS4, KS5 and for staff. Why not try it yourself? If you feel inclined to do so, please email your response to Mrs Mayes.
