There are lots of exciting things happening in the Drama Department this term

Grease Rehearsal are well underway with most of the first act having been rehearsed. Students performed sections at open evening with great success. Tickets will be on sale very soon! Any students who are interested in costume design and support can to come to B8 on a Friday lunch time to plan and organise the costumes.

Year 10

War Horse- 40 year 10 students took a trip to see War Horse at the New London Theatre. This was a great success and students were amazed by the puppetry and special effects. Next trip will be to see Woman in Black!!
 

Year 12

Our Country's Good at the National Theatre- the year 12 students went to see Our Country's Good on Wednesday night at the National Theatre. Our Country's Good is a play about convicts going to Australia in 1787. When in Australia they perform the play 'The Recruiting Officer' Our Country's Good is about the power theatre has to transcend and transform people. Year 12 loved the performance and were impressed by the grand set, the atmospheric use of lighting and song. Definitely a must see.

Year 12

Year 12 have been given a place on 'Play the Critic'. This is a fantastic opportunity where the students will attend two shows and a masterclass with professional theatre critics. They will then have a tutorial with a London Theatre Critic in school and they will write a review which will be submitted into a competition. The first performance they see is 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time on Monday 5th October.
