Sports News at Wiseman

Its been a busy week for sports at Wiseman with lots of action

It’s been a very busy week for the Cardinal Wiseman Sports Teams and Clubs. History was made on Tuesday afternoon as Cardinal Wiseman hosted its first ever Middlesex Cup game on our own playing field! The cup games soon built up with Cardinal Wiseman hosting a record breaking four cup games this week. Highlights of the week also include the Second Round NatWest Cup match, Year 7 playing their first game of Rugby and the Year 8 Rugby Team Playing in a World Cup Festival at Grasshoppers RFU.

There was a great atmosphere for both of the Year 10 Cup games, with both opposition coaches complementing the team and the supporters. Let’s hope for some more home cup ties. The Year 9 team will play host to St James School from Twickenham in the Middlesex Plate.

The Year 9 Football team had a Middlesex Cup tie which saw eight new players making their debut for the school team, in a hard fought game they lost 4-0 to Haydon.

The fixtures and clubs continue this term: Year 11 and Year 8 will start their Middlesex Plate Campaign at home against Haydon, with the Year 8 facing Latymer (away). Both years also have Rugby League National Cup games versus Greycourt from Richmond (Monday and Friday). The Ealing Borough X-country league start Thursday for all years boys and girls and finally the Ealing Borough Football League starts on Tuesday with Years 7, 9 and 10 all playing home fixtures.
