Step into NHS Competition
Year 8 and Year 9 students were invited to take part in the Step into the NHS competition.
As a Christmas holiday independent assignment, all Year 8 and Year 9 students were invited to take part in the Step into the NHS competition. There are 350 potential careers in the NHS and one person in forty in works for the NHS, so it is highly likely some of our students may embark on a career in the NHS. Students were asked to select a particular career, research it, compose a job description and then create an advertisement for the job. We have received a wide range of creative advertisements including: posters, films and leaflets. In preparing for the competition students developed their research and information gathering skills; tested their writing skills; enhanced their ability to collate and organise materials; demonstrated creativity; developed their vocabulary and extended their knowledge about careers in the NHS. The competition closes at the end of January. Students who entered in school by 18th January will receive a certificate and 5 achievement points. Good luck!
