Five students from Year 8 received a “highly commended” award for their entry in the Step into the NHS competition they entered this January. This is quite an achievement given that it was a national competition and more than 3,000 students across the country took part. Thanks to the English department for taking a lesson to introduce and explain the competition. The students worked independently over the Christmas holidays researching some the of the possible 350 NHS careers. Then they chose a specific NHS career, composed a job description and created an advertisement. Students produced amazing videos, posters, leaflets and booklets demonstrating knowledge and skills.

The five winners were presented with official certificates in assembly. All students who took part will received a participation certificate.
