Results Day is always an anxious day – here are some comments from our Y13 students about how they felt when they opened their envelopes as well as their reflections on their time at the Cardinal Wiseman Sixth Form:

“I joined Cardinal Wiseman Sixth Form in 2014 and from the first moment I felt utterly at home. The teachers and the Sixth Form team are exceptional and I could not have achieved my results without their support and nurturing. The team encouraged me to be ambitious but there's always a little nervousness on opening results; although I knew the team would support me whatever the outcome. I could not have chosen a better Sixth Form for friendship, teaching and inspiration. I look forward to attending the University of York but will always miss Wiseman.”  Darcey Nicholls (University of York)

"Finding out that I got my place at Imperial with the grades I needed made all the hard work over the two years worthwhile. There were highs and lows but I can honestly say I have had an amazing experience at Cardinal Wiseman. Big up the Sixth Form team and teachers for guiding me through it, I couldn't have hoped for more support." George Hedley (Imperial College London)

“Ms Somrah, I would like to thank you and the rest of the Sixth Form team for all the help you have given me, especially with my application. I could not have done it without you and I'd never have thought back in October that the dream of going to such a prestigious university would become a reality.”

“The past two years at The Cardinal Wiseman Sixth Form have flown by quicker than I ever imagined they would. It’s difficult to sum up my whole experience but being at Wiseman has helped to make a demanding journey considerably more enjoyable. I could not have received better support from the Sixth Form Team, who gave it their all in helping me with the lengthy Cambridge application process.  Furthermore, continual motivation, both in lessons and assemblies, from the Sixth Form team and my subject teachers helped me to achieve my grades. It’s truly amazing how they managed to cater to my individual needs while juggling the needs of hundreds of other pupils.

When I opened my results to see that I had achieved the grades I needed, I was so relieved as it meant the last few years had ended with such positive results. I will look back on my time at Wiseman with many happy memories and look forward to visiting in the future.” Suneet Dias (University of Cambridge)

“The Cardinal Wiseman Sixth Form team are in one word, phenomenal as they have pushed and helped me to fulfil my potential. Achieving A*AB at A-Level is no easy feat and I could not have done it without them and the teachers and so I thank them dearly for that. I had a truly wonderful sixth form experience filled with laughs, motivational assemblies and putting in hard work to get to where I needed to be in the end.
Initially when I opened my results I was shocked as I was not expecting them at all but that shock soon turned into joy and really did prove to me 'I could not have done anymore' (Ms Somrah’s favourite quote).
As I begin a new chapter in my life I will always be thankful and appreciative of the Sixth Form team and staff and would like to thank them once again for getting me into one of the best universities in the country as well as helping me grow as a person.” Leon Dzapasi (University of Loughborough)

“It's incontestable that A levels are two of the toughest years of your life, but the time and support you receive from the Sixth Form team at Cardinal Wiseman makes these years not only bearable but enjoyable! Results day is without a doubt one of the most nerve wracking experiences but you're surrounded by staff who calm your nerves and will celebrate in your success or do whatever they can to get you where you want to be. Thank you again Miss to you and everyone for all your support over not only the past few months but my whole time at Wiseman, it would’ve been a lot more difficult had you not all been so approachable, supportive and kind. I really will miss this place!” Anna Bell (University of Reading)

“Achieving higher than I ever thought I could is the greatest feeling ever and I owe it all to the Sixth Form team and staff! A Levels are so tough but the constant support from the Sixth Form team has been amazing. They kept encouraging and motivating me which led me to not only secure a place at my chosen university but also to grow as a person. After much self-doubt, The Cardinal Wiseman Sixth Form team helped me reach my full potential and I am so grateful for the experience I've had here for the last 2 years.” Angela Haddad (Brunel University)
