Ealing Readers' Award

This year's Winner: Missing Me by Sophie McKenzie (Elthorne Park High School)

On Tuesday 11th June the Library will be hosted the Grand Final of the Ealing Readers Award (ERA).

Students and staff came to Cardinal Wiseman from eight schools across the borough. Our prestigious guest speaker was multi-award winning author Geraldine McCaughrean and each school delivered a presentation of one of the nominated books before voting for the winner.

ERA is a book prize that is awarded by the KS3 students in Ealing schools. Each student in Years 7, 8 and 9 may nominate one fiction book published in 2012 for the award. Nominations are collected from all High Schools taking part and the books with most nominations are put on the ERA shortlist. After many, many enjoyable hours spent reading over the last few months the winner was on Tuesday.

Each school champions a book on the shortlist and after lunch will they had one last chance to persuade voters when they delivered their presentations. The winner was be announced by Geraldine at 2.15 pm.
