Be Healthy:
Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of….
- How to promote their health and well-being through participating in sport and extracurricular activities
- The importance of a balanced diet and need for exercise
- The effects of exercise on the body
- How to increase and sustain physical performance
Stay Safe:
Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of….
- The basic safety rules of taking part in a physical activity. E.g. No Jewellery
- Sport specific rules and how to use specific equipment
- The different aspects of health
- How to and perform safe warm up and cool down routines for different activities
- And teachers will adhere to the health and safety and child protection policy
Enjoy and Achieve:
Students’ successes are celebrated in lessons by rewards, certificates and through the use of levels. Students are inspired to continue learning and bettering their performance.
- Staff will establish a SEN and G&T register and make sure activities are differentiated
- Staff will monitor and track levels to ensure students meet their potential
- Extracurricular and enrichment opportunities are provided
- All pupils can access and perform with confidence in PE through differentiation
Make a positive contribution:
- Students are given the opportunity to take on different roles and responsibilities and taught how to help others in many different ways
- They are encouraged to use their skills to help their peers
- Introduce young leaders to run competitions and festivals in primary schools
- Take part in inter house team, school team and or club competition
- Given merits, certificates and rewards
Economic well-being:
- Students are encouraged to consider how they could use an interest in any area of sport to become gainfully employed
- Pupils know of the local sporting opportunities within the community
