Supporting our school as a Catholic Community

  • ensure my son/daughter’s attendance at services and other liturgical events
  • develop our son/daughter’s faith

  • provide a welcoming and Christian learning environment

Being ready for school

  • send my son/daughter to school in full school uniform
  • make sure my son/daughter has the right equipment for school
  • always wear full school uniform
  • bring the right equipment to school
  • insist that school uniform is worn at all times
  • tell your son/daughter what he/she needs for lessons

Attendance/
punctuality

  • make sure my son/daughter attends school on time every day

  • encourage good attendance and punctuality and to reward these

Curriculum (Class and Homework)

  • take an interest in the work of my son/daughter
  • encourage my son/daughter to always do his/her best
  • make sure my son/daughter does his/her homework
  • monitor my son/daughter’s school organiser and sign it weekly
  • listen to my teacher and work hard
  • write all homework in my planner
  • do my homework and hand it in on time
  • prepare your son/daughter in a range of subjects that will allow him/her to reach their potential in national examinations
  • set appropriate work, which will be marked regularly
  • to deliver lessons planned at a challenging/
    appropriate level for each child
  • provide a homework timetable and planner and to set homework

Behaviour

  • encourage my son/daughter to have high standards of behaviour at all times
  • behave well in/outside of school and follow the Code of Conduct
  • encourage high standards of behaviour always

Pastoral support

  • let the school know if there are any problems likely to affect my son/
    daughter’s learning
  • let my teacher know if I have any worries
  • listen and respond quickly to any concerns

Links with school

  • attend parents’ evenings
  • read letters from school and reply if necessary
  • support the school if sanctions, for example, detentions become necessary
  • contact the school quickly if worried or concerned about any issue
  • take all letters home to my parent(s)
  • complete any sanctions, if necessary
  • hold regular parents’ evenings
  • report regularly on your son/
    daughter’s progress, attendance and punctuality
  • inform you of any worries or concerns where necessary
  • acknowledge achievement and improvement to the family when appropriate
