Family Fast Day

‘None of us can think we are exempt from concerns for the poor and for social justice.’

Pope Francis

The media is continuously reminding us of the millions of people around the world, including those in our local community, who are living in poverty. Pope Francis once called for young people to ‘get their hands dirty’ in the fight against poverty, urging people to tackle the needs of the poor in our local, national and global communities. Our school community is constantly striving for the Common Good and equality for all, so that we may live up to our duty to be stewards of creation, and be true brothers and sisters to our global family. This is a key element of our school ethos, “All Things for Christ “.

This Thursday, 2nd October, our community will be holding our bi-annual Hunger Lunch for all staff and students. On this day we are supporting the work of CAFOD, which looks after the needs of those living in poverty worldwide.

On this day a limited lunch menu will be offered to all students and staff and all money raised will go to Cafod. For those students who do not use the canteen but wish to make a donation, a collection bucket will be available on the day in the canteen and reception there will also be the option to make a donation via Parent Pay if you wish.
