Sixth Form Enrichment Event
Turner & Townsend careers talk with our Year 12 and Year 13 students
On Thursday 12th October, a large group of Year 12 and 13 students attended our first Enrichment Twilight Session of this academic year. They listened to a talk by young employees of Turner & Townsend, a large, international Construction Company. They have learned about a variety of jobs and careers available within Turner & Townsend and the construction industry in general, such as in Quantity or Construction Surveying or Project Management. They also listened to the speakers own experiences of how they came to work for Turner & Townsend, be it through the apprenticeship or the graduate route. What became apparent is that this large global company invests heavily in its workforce by covering all the university Batchelor degree costs for those who start as apprentices or Master degree for those who join as graduates.
Our students were really impressed by the talk, as many of them stayed behind to ask individual questions and talk to the guests. I would like to thank Turner & Townsend for helping to organise this talk and for allowing the employees to take time off to travel to our school.
