Year 11 Science Exams

Information about the papers and topics students will sit for the Year 11 Science Trial Examinations.
Year 11
Combined Science students – 3x1h 10min papers (one each Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Separate Science students – 3x1h 45min papers (one each Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Students will sit 6 of these papers next summer
It is essential that your child attempts these tests with the aim of achieving the best possible results they can.
Set 4 students will be trialing a Higher paper, we continue to monitor their performance.
Topics that will be tested
Biology- Monday 11th December Afternoon
B1 Cell-level systems; B2 Scaling Up, B3 Organism level Systems; B4 Community level systems
Chemistry- Tuesday 12th December Afternoon
C1 Particles; C2.1 Elements, compounds and mixtures; C3 Chemical reactions; C4 Predicting and identifying reactions and products
Physics - Wednesday 13th December Afternoon
Combined – P2 Forces; P3 Electricity and magnetism; P4 Waves and radioactivity
Separate - P2 Forces; P3 Electricity; P4 Magnetism and magnetic fields; P5 Waves in matter; P6 Radioactivity
Revision
All students have been given Revision Guides with Workbooks which the Science Department have purchased for students to use to prepare for examinations. Revision resources can be found on Frog which include past paper questions, board works quizzes and revision broadsheets. Students also have access to the online textbook and further practice questions at https://www.kerboodle.com.
