Important news about our school uniform suppliers and advice ahead of the Christmas period.
New Uniform Stockist
I would like to start by apologising on behalf of the school for the substandard service many of you experienced when attempting to purchase uniform items from the new school supplier, PMG School wear. It was clear that PMG had not stocked the store sufficiently and many of you had to wait months for uniform items to arrive and that communication from the store was inconsistent at best. Having listened to feedback from parents/carers I am pleased to report that the school has now secured a second uniform supplier, Juniper Uniform (154-156 the Broadway W13 OTL), who will become our joint uniform stockist ahead of the 2018/19 academic year. It is hoped that by having a second supplier, that this ability to choose will improve the level of customer service for all our parents/carers. We will of course write to you again ahead of the summer term with pricing details, store opening times and the on-line facilities operated by both businesses so that you can best choose where to purchase your child’s uniform from for the academic year 2018/19. It was clear from the numerous e-mails the school received that many of you did not receive the level of service from PMG that you had previously enjoyed at Class Designs, under the stewardship of Mrs Gill. Therefore, many of you will be heartened to hear that PMG have secured the services of Mrs Gill, who is now overseeing the PMG store in Hanwell. For this reason we have decided to extend our relationship with PMG for a further twelve months as we strongly believe the mistakes made last summer will not be repeated again next summer under the management of Mary.
School Coats (Not Jackets)
I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents/carers and students that all coats must be plain black or navy blue and be long enough to at least cover the length of the blazer when zipped/buttoned up. There has been a recent trend amongst students to wear coats/jackets that only reach the top of the waist or are so fitted that the blazer does not fit underneath it. Therefore, with Christmas and the January sales just ahead of us, can I remind parents/carers that if they are to purchase a new coat for their son/daughter that it should be a minimum of mid-thigh length to avoid any ambiguity. If you are in any doubt whatsoever on whether your child’s new coat is acceptable for school please retain the receipt so that it can be returned and a replacement or refund secured to avoid disappointment.
New Artificial Sports Pitch
We are delighted to be finally using our new artificial, floodlit sports pitch and I’m sure you and your children will agree that we are extremely fortunate to have access to such a wonderful facility. We are of course very eager to look after and protect the facility and one of the simplest ways that we can do this is by ensuring that all users wear the correct footwear. With this in mind please could I ask those parents that have yet to purchase appropriate footwear for their child to consider purchasing them as a Christmas present. Details of the right type of sports shoe can be found overleaf along with some recommended stockists who are extremely competitive on price when it comes to this type of sportswear.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our parents/carers and students a peaceful and happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the new term on January 2nd 2018.
