Faith Life
The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School is a strong community centred on Jesus and founded on Christian faith, love and the teachings of the Catholic Church. The spiritual and religious life of the school are enhanced through liturgies, retreats, prayer, social justice events and awareness of God’s Presence in all things.
We are blessed with a full-time Chaplain, Mary Boland and a part time assistant Chaplain, Claire Andrew. However, the success of Chaplaincy depends on the collaboration and support from a cross section of staff, students, parents, governors and local clergy who all share their gifts of time and talent to make these activities possible.
Although our Chaplain’s do not have a formal counselling role in the school, they are available for students, staff & parents should they need to speak to someone. Our Chaplain’s serve to support and pray with anyone who is in need.
Our beautiful chapel is located at the heart of the school and is used daily for worship, prayer and learning.
Virtual Prayer Board
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6
This prayer board is available to the whole of our school community. Please let us know how we can pray for you or if you have a special intention. All requests will remain anonymous. The requests are prayed for every Friday during our time of Adoration.
Please send prayer requests to: prayer@wiseman.ealing.sch.uk
Chaplaincy Activities
Renters Rights Workshop - Wednesday 22nd October 2025
We know from listening to our students and working with our families that many members of our community are struggling with their housing, whether that be paying for rent, the threat of eviction or unsuitable living conditions. Working in conjunction with Ealing Citizens and Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, we will be hosting two Renters Rights workshops in the Parish Centre of Our Lady of the Visitation on Wednesday 22nd October.
Workshops timings have been confirmed as;
08.30 - 10am and 12.00 - 1.30pm
The Cardinal Wiseman is delighted to welcome into our Chapel Pax Christi's Icon of Reconciliation until the end of Term. Pax Christi is the Catholic Peace organization recognised by the Church. Since the icon’s creation, in a monastery near Jerusalem in 1999, it has served as a resource for peace and justice efforts worldwide. In addition to its home in Brussels and its frequent tours of the UK, the icon's travels include: Brazil, The Middle East, Latin America, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
While the icon is in our Chapel we will be holding prayer services for Peace, attended also by the primary schools in our Deanery.
Ealing Foodbank
At The Cardinal Wiseman, supporting our local foodbank is an important part of living out our faith in action. Students and staff come together throughout the year to donate non-perishable items, organize collections, and raise awareness about food poverty in the community. These efforts not only provide essential help to families in need but also nurture a spirit of compassion, service, and social responsibility among our young people. By working with the foodbank regularly, the school demonstrates its commitment to Gospel values and strengthens its connection with the wider community.
Please see below the items requested by Ealing Foodbank this month. Our collection point is on the ground floor of Bethlehem in the foyer.

Diocesan News
In light of the recent rally, 'Unite the Kingdom,' and related protests in our towns, it is important that our pupils, staff and wider community have the opportunity to reflect on the Catholic response and values of compassion, inclusion, and solidarity. Please see below the response from the Churches Together in England, to which Cardinal Vincent Nichols is a President.
Please see also a video message from Bishop Paul McAleenan, which will be shown to all students and staff this week.
