The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School

Wiseman Olympics

Let the games begin! The Wiseman Olympics is back for another year and is taking place on Monday 9th July at Perivale Athletics Track. Update coming soon!

On Monday 9th July 2012 all students in Year 7, 8 and 9 will be taking part in The Wiseman Olympics. This will be a day of fun and excitement as all our students represent their Houses in a range of sports at Perivale Track. The purpose of the day is to develop the students’ self-confidence, team building skills, and the school’s community cohesion. It is an inclusive event with every student participating and contributing to its success and as such it will not replace the school’s traditional sports day and the events will not require a high level of athleticism.
All students must come to school in their PE kit and register as normal with their tutor. They will then walk accompanied by staff to Perivale Track. Students must wear their full school PE kit with a t-shirt that is their House colour. Unfortunately the school is not able to supply all these t-shirts so if possible we would appreciate it if you could purchase a cheap and simple t-shirt in your child’s House colours for them to wear on the day. The House colours are as follows:
  • Campion: Red
  • More: Yellow
  • Ward: Purple
  • Fisher: Blue
  • Southall: Green
  • Clitherow: White
Students must bring with them plenty of drinking water, a packed lunch, a rain coat, a high factor sun cream which they will be responsible for applying and a sun hat. If they use a blue inhaler they must also bring this with them. Students are strongly advised not to bring any valuables as the school cannot guarantee their safety. Students who get free school meals must collect their lunch during am tutor from the school’s canteen. All students will remain at Perivale Track where they will be fully supervised and will be dismissed from there at 2.45pm.
