Politics Students to hold AV referendum

Year 12 Politics students will be holding a mock referendum on the Alternative Vote on Wednesday 4th May. Will it reflect the real result?

Mr Thomas' Year 12 Politics class is busily organising a mock referendum on the Alternative Vote (AV) to be held at Cardinal Wiseman on Wednesday 4th May 2011 (the day before the 'real thing' in the country).

Between now and then, ballot papers will be produced and referendum campaigns set up for both the Yes and No camps. The students have shown a real willingness to make this project their own and have already organised a sixth form assembly, display boards and their very own AV ballot box. Each campaign will put its ideas to the voters before referendum day itself.
All staff and sixth formers are eligible to take part. Counting will take place on Thursday morning - who knows, perhaps a useful glimpse of how the real result will pan out!
