Wiseman Sport
Please find the Sporting Extra Curricular Timetable for the Summer term.
There is no sign up and no fee for any club.
If students wish to attend, they need to change in the changing rooms and register with the teacher running the club. If they wish to attend a morning club, they should come to school in their PE kit, then after the club, go to the changing rooms and change into their full School uniform.
All clubs require students to be in full Wiseman PE kit, with jewellery and watches removed.

PE Curriculum Overview
Our aim is to find every child a Sport for Life
PE is a vital part of school life and ultimately children’s future well-being. It is therefore our intent to provide an inclusive, broad and balanced PE curriculum that ensures ALL children will benefit, whether through enhancing existing skills, learning new skills or being introduced to new sports, clubs, teams and organisations.
|
Curriculum Intent Students will develop a deep understanding of how PE and Sport plays a vitally important part of a Physical, mental and social lifestyle. We want students to develop a love of sport and recognise that PE and sport has an important role to play in building skills for life after education. To give all students the opportunity to experience competitive sport through a thriving extracurricular programme, borough and national competitions and inter-house tournaments. To capture the school moto; All things for Christ. This is achieved by encouraging sportsmanship between pupils, promoting fair play and highlighting the importance of ethics within sport and general life. We recognise the importance of spirituality by developing students' beliefs, values, emotions, principles, and morals. |

Wider Learning and Enrichment Opportunities:
Students at Cardinal Wiseman are given a full range of opportunities to take part in physical activity, physical education, non-competitive and competitive sports, through inter-house & inter-school activities we offer coaching / training sessions; trips/visits; and other out-of-school activities. All students are encouraged to make full use of these opportunities for their own personal benefit and to contribute to our whole school ethos.
We encourage and reward achievement, insist on participation and strive for excellence. We are also involved in the School Sport Partnership programme with links to our Primary Family of Schools, where students get the opportunity to act as leaders in the local community.
Leadership opportunities:
At Cardinal Wiseman, the PE department allows students to develop their leadership skills throughout the Key stages. When working collaboratively in small groups, it allows students to take charge of their own learning and lead skills, peer assess sporting practices, referee and umpire small-sided competitive games.
To continue building our students leadership skills outside the classroom, we run Wiseman Sports Leaders. Where students have the opportunity to promote and build their leadership and organisation skills, as well as lead Primary School sporting events organised by School Sports Partnership. These skills learnt will not only develop key skills to help improve their class work, and give them valuable skills for life, but will help and add to the Sixth form application.
