Becoming a Parent Governor

If you are a parent or carer of a child registered at The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School, then you are eligible to stand for election, and we hope that you may be interested in putting yourself forward. We would particularly welcome parents with a background in finance, human resources, or with a legal background.

If you are interested, it may be helpful for you to know what is involved. Parent Governors are elected for a four-year term. The commitment to the role would involve you in attending meetings regularly and undertaking training. The Governing Board meets once a term, as do the subcommittees for: Catholic Life, Curriculum, Resources and Admissions. Governors are asked to be on a minimum of two subcommittees. All the meetings take place on a weekday evening, governor training is freely available through the Local Authority and the Diocese of Westminster and, on occasions, whole governor training takes place on site.

You may contact the Clerk to the Governors at: governors@wiseman.ealing.sch.uk

All new Parent Governors will be required to complete a Declaration Form and be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
